The Chevrolet Corvette C5 Z06 is an American sportscar manufactured from 2001 to 2006 in Romulus, Michigan's General Motors assembly plant. It belongs to the fifth generation of the Corvettes and comes in a Rear-wheel-drive layout as usual for these motorsport icons. The two-door C5 features a naturally-aspirated V8 cylinder engine named LS6, which produces a maximum power of 411PS at 6000rpm and 542.0nm at 6000rpm torque. It has a six-speed manual transmission. 2001: The Chevrolet Corvette C5 Z06 was introduced as a high-performance model featuring a 5.7-liter LS6 V8 engine producing 385 horsepower, a fixed-roof coupe design for reduced weight, and upgraded brakes and suspension.
2002: The LS6 engine was upgraded to produce 405 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque, and minor weight-saving measures were implemented.
2003: Commemorative badging and special 50th-anniversary logos were added for the Corvette's golden anniversary, with no mechanical changes.
2004: Final production year of the C5 Z06, featuring a special Commemorative Edition with a Le Mans Blue paint option, a carbon-fiber hood, and unique badging, marking the end of the C5 generation.
