2009: Audi introduced the TT RS 8J, featuring a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine delivering 340 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. It came standard with a six-speed manual transmission and Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system. The exterior showcased a more aggressive design, including a fixed rear wing, larger air intakes, and unique RS badging.
2011: Audi introduced the TT RS to the North American market, offering the same 2.5-liter turbocharged engine and six-speed manual transmission. This year also saw the introduction of optional features such as the Sport Exhaust system, enhancing the vehicle's auditory presence.
2012: Audi unveiled the TT RS Plus variant, which increased engine output to 360 horsepower and 343 lb-ft of torque. This model featured a higher top speed of 174 mph and offered an optional seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission alongside the standard six-speed manual. Exterior enhancements included black exterior accents and unique alloy wheels.
2013: The final production year for the TT RS 8J saw no significant changes, as Audi prepared to transition to the next generation of the TT lineup.
