Der K20Z3 DOHC i-VTEC-Reihenvierzylinder mit 2,0 Litern, der 197 PS bei 7.800 U/min mit 139 Pfund-Fuß Drehmoment bei 6.100 U/min produziert, repräsentierte die Evolution der legendären K-Serie-Architektur. Das Facelift 2009 brachte verfeinerte Außen-Styling durch überarbeitete Frontstoßstange mit verpflichtenden ovalen Nebelscheinwerfern, Wabenmuster-Obergrillmuster mit verlegtem Si-Abzeichen, Blinker mit klaren Linsen. Die Produktion endete 2011 mit der Einführung des Civic der neunten Generation, der einen überarbeiteten K24Z7 2,4-Liter-Motor mit 201 PS einführte, während Exemplare der achten Generation FA5 zeitgenössische Gebrauchtmarktwerte von $8.000 bis $18.000 beibehalten.
