Der Ford Mustang Boss 302 S197 ist ein kraftvoller Pony Car der fünften Mustang-Generation, produziert von 2012 bis 2013 im Flat Rock Assembly Plant nahe Detroit, Michigan. Der Boss verfügt serienmäßig über den 5,0-Liter „Roadrunner“ DOHC V8-Motor mit einer Leistung von 444 PS. Er wiegt etwa 3600 Pfund (1647 kg) und beschleunigt in nur 4 Sekunden von 0 auf 60 mph, mit einer Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 162 mph (259 km/h). Der Antriebsstrang ist heckgetrieben und mit einem 6-Gang-Schaltgetriebe ausgestattet. Die lange Motorhaube in Kombination mit dem rechteckigen Kühlergrill ist eines der charakteristischen Merkmale des S197 Mustang.
Der Ford Mustang Boss 302 S197 verwendet eine MacPherson-Federbein-Vorderachse mit einigen Modifikationen, wie etwa den über den vorderen Federbeinen montierten Federn anstelle einer separaten Anordnung. Die Serienbereifung besteht aus Pirelli P-Zero 255/40 R19 vorne und 285/35 R19 hinten.
