The Volkswagen Golf R Mk7 is a compact family car coming as a two or four-door hatchback with a rear-wheel-drive layout, produced from 2015 to 2019 by Volkswagen at their assembly plants in Wolfsburg & Zwickau (Germany), Puebla (Mexico), and Foshan (China). It is the most powerful Golf ever produced, with a maximum power of 300 PS and 380 Nm of torque. The Golf R Mk7 comes from stock with a 2.0L 121 cu-in turbocharged inline-four engine working side by side with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed DSG transmission. The registered top speed of this version of the Golf is 155 MPH (electronically limited), and its 0-60 MPH acceleration time is 5 seconds.
The Volkswagen Golf R Mk7 comes with a $30,000 price tag, pretty affordable for this attractive all-rounder. The New Golf hits the ground with Continental ContiSportContact 5P 225/40 R18 tires upfront, 235/35 R19 on the back, and a ventilated discs brake system with an electronic parking brake on the four wheels. Among the improvements, the R has an updated, fifth-generation 4MOTION Haldex four-wheel-drive system and improved suspension, all together with rear axle improvements that reduce fuel consumption to 7.10L/100KM. The revised front bumper and the option of LED headlights are also available for this Golf R.
