La Honda Civic EK est une compacte 3 portes, moteur avant, traction intégrale, appartenant à la sixième génération de la série emblématique Civic. Elle est une création de Masakazu Udagawa et Yoshi Kigoyoshi, produite en série de 1995 à 2000. Équipée d’un moteur 1.6L SOCH VTEC-E associé à une boîte manuelle 5 vitesses, cette voiture accélère de 0 à 60 MPH en 10,8 secondes, atteignant 110 MPH. Sa consommation combinée de 31 MPG lui a valu une réputation bien méritée pour son excellente économie de carburant, sa rentabilité et sa fiabilité. Elle offre des sièges arrière spacieux et une ergonomie remarquable. C’est une Civic facile à conduire et à garer, au look réussi.
La Honda Civic EK a plus de 20 ans et affiche donc une valeur marchande d’environ 2 698 $, faisant de ce classique japonais un véhicule assez abordable. Elle est dotée d’un système de suspension à double triangulation supportant des pneus 185/65/R14 85S d’origine. La Civic EK utilise des tambours arrière avec un système antiblocage (ABS) pour le freinage, l’une des configurations les plus efficaces jamais développées. 1996: The EK Civic debuted as the sixth generation, available in multiple trims (DX, LX, EX, CX, HX, and SiR in some markets) and body styles (hatchback, coupe, and sedan). Engine options included the D16Y series for most trims, with the high-performance B16A2 engine in the SiR for select markets
1997: Minor updates, mostly focused on additional color options and small interior improvements. The lineup and engine choices remained the same.
1998: The Civic received a facelift with new headlights, taillights, grille, and front and rear bumpers. Interior materials were improved, and the Si trim was reintroduced in the U.S., featuring the 1.6L B16A2 DOHC VTEC engine with 160 hp.
1999: Small feature updates, including additional standard equipment for certain trims. The Si remained popular in the U.S. market with the high-revving B16A2 engine.
2000: Final production year for the EK generation, with minimal changes as Honda prepared to launch the seventh generation. The model lineup and engine options remained consistent.
