Note
La Chevrolet Corvette C5, prodotta dal 1997 al 2004, rappresentò un’evoluzione significativa per la Corvette, introducendo un design più raffinato, prestazioni migliorate e tecnologia modernizzata. Costruita su una nuova piattaforma, la C5 vantava una struttura leggera ma rigida che migliorava notevolmente la maneggevolezza e la stabilità. Era equipaggiata con il nuovissimo motore V8 LS1 da 5,7 litri, che inizialmente erogava 345 cavalli e successivamente aumentò a 350 cavalli, garantendo un’accelerazione potente e un soddisfacente rombo V8. Abbinata a un cambio manuale a sei marce o a un automatico a quattro rapporti, la C5 raggiungeva prestazioni impressionanti, passando da 0 a 60 mph in meno di 5 secondi.
Il design della C5 combinava elementi classici dello stile Corvette con una forma più aerodinamica e filante. Disponibile in versione coupé, cabriolet e successivamente con tetto rigido fisso, offriva versatilità per diverse esperienze di guida. All’interno, la C5 presentava un abitacolo più orientato al guidatore e confortevole rispetto ai modelli precedenti, con ergonomia migliorata, sedili in pelle e un quadro strumenti digitale-analogico aggiornato. La C5 introdusse inoltre caratteristiche come il display head-up e un sistema di gestione attiva della dinamica di guida, segnando un salto importante sia nelle prestazioni sia nella tecnologia per la gamma Corvette.
