El BMW E92 M3 DCT es una versión coupé de dos puertas del E92 que viene de serie con una transmisión de doble embrague. Fue producido entre 2008 y 2013 por la división de motorsport de BMW en Alemania. El coche monta el emblemático motor V8 atmosférico S65 de la marca, que alcanza una potencia máxima de 420 PS (450 hp – 331 kW) a 8300 rpm. El sistema de inyección multipunto permite acelerar de 0 a 62 mph (100 km/h) en 4.4 segundos y alcanzar una velocidad máxima de alrededor de 190 mph (305 km/h). Pero es la famosa transmisión de doble embrague de 7 velocidades (DCT) lo que diferencia al M3 E92 DCT de otras versiones del M3. Básicamente, la DCT es una caja manual automatizada con dos embragues independientes.
La configuración del BMW E92 M3 DCT es tracción trasera, con motor delantero, suspensión delantera de doble horquilla y suspensión independiente multibrazo en la parte trasera. El sistema de frenos con discos ventilados en las cuatro ruedas y la dirección eléctrica facilitan su manejo en cualquier condición de pista. Los neumáticos de serie son Michelin Pilot Sport PS2, 255/35 R19 delante y 260/35 R19 detrás. El coche pesa alrededor de 3374 lbs (1530 kg). Su precio de $30,000 lo convierte en un coupé BMW muy accesible, considerando la alta tecnología y fiabilidad del automóvil, lo que lo convierte en una adquisición sólida para cualquier entusiasta del motor.
