The Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R S550 is the sixth generation of Mustang, in production from 2015 to 2020 in the Ford manufacturing plant of Flat Rock, Michigan. The GT350R is a two-door coupe that runs a 5.2 L VooDoo naturally aspirated V8 engine (4 valves per cylinder, double overhead camshaft), delivering 526 bhp (533 PS/302 kW) at 7500rpm and 581nm. It accelerates from 0-60mph in just 3.9 seconds, an impressive number for any car, and has a maximum speed of 170mph (272 km/h).
The Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R S550 came with a 6-speed manual transmission, and it's essentially a modern muscle car, with its RWD layout and low weight of 3660 lbs (1660kg). State-of-the-art carbon-fiber wheels, a larger front splitter than the one installed in previous generations, and a fixed rear wing for enhanced aerodynamic performance are some of the additions making the GT350R one of the fastest Mustangs in the racetracks and the streets. The standard tire set features Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubbers, 305/30 ZR19 on the front and 315/30 ZR19 on the rear, coupled with a power-assisted rack and pinion steering system. The suspension system is a double-ball-joint McPherson strut on the front and an integral link independent with coil springs on the back. The $50K price tag on this Mustang makes it attractive for aspiring racers looking for some American muscle car action in their lives.
