La Mercedes-AMG GT R est une variante haute performance deux portes et propulsion de l'AMG GT, présentée au Festival de la vitesse de Goodwood en 2016. Conçue par Robert Lesnik et Jan Kaul, elle est assemblée à Sindelfingen, en Allemagne, de 2017 à 2019. Ce modèle haut de gamme est équipé d’un moteur V8 biturbo 4.0L, délivrant une puissance maximale de 585 ch et un couple de 700 Nm, associé à une transmission automatique à 7 rapports qui propulse cette voiture de 0 à 60 mph en seulement 3,6 secondes, pour une vitesse de pointe de 198 mph. En tant que supercar moderne, elle intègre toutes les fonctionnalités qu’un passionné de vitesse rechercherait pour son prochain achat.
Cette Mercedes affiche un look sportif impeccable et est capable de performances incroyables sur circuit. Bien qu’elle soit un peu plus onéreuse, il ne fait aucun doute que c’est un modèle incontournable. L’aileron arrière réglable, les nouvelles prises d’air avant et un système de contrôle de traction AMG à 9 modes font partie des équipements haut de gamme de cette version. Pour la route, elle est chaussée de pneus 275/35R19 à l’avant et 325/30R20 à l’arrière, soutenus par une suspension à ressorts hélicoïdaux et un système de freinage à disques ventilés. La Mercedes-AMG GT R est proposée à 76 988 $, un excellent rapport qualité-prix pour une machine de course aussi exceptionnelle.
