The Porsche 718 Spyder is a high-performance, open-top sports car that combines Porsche’s classic roadster design with modern engineering and power. It’s part of the 718 lineup, sharing much with the 718 Cayman GT4, and is designed for drivers who want both track-ready performance and the joy of open-air driving.
The 718 Spyder is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine, producing 414 horsepower and 309 lb-ft of torque, with a redline of 8,000 rpm. This engine delivers powerful acceleration, taking the Spyder from 0 to 60 mph in around 4 seconds. The car is available with either a 6-speed manual transmission, which emphasizes driver engagement, or a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic for faster shifts.
The Spyder features a lightweight, manually operated soft top, designed for simplicity and to save weight. Its suspension system includes Porsche’s Active Suspension Management (PASM), and the car sits 1.2 inches lower than standard 718 models, improving handling and stability. Large brakes and an optional ceramic brake package provide strong stopping power. A rear diffuser and ducktail spoiler enhance aerodynamics, providing stability at high speeds without a fixed rear wing.
Inside, the 718 Spyder offers a driver-focused cabin with sport seats, premium materials, and minimalistic design to reduce distractions. Standard features include a GT sports steering wheel, Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system with navigation, and optional leather and Alcantara finishes.
The Porsche 718 Spyder combines high-performance engineering with a classic open-top design, appealing to drivers who value both track performance and the joy of driving a lightweight roadster.
