The facility serves as a multipurpose motorsport venue hosting racing and motorcycling events for local clubs and associations. Several layouts are available in the Anneau du Rhin, including the 2.29-mile (3.68-km) Competition Course and the 1.86-mile (3-km) Course, which bypasses the elevation changes of the northwest segment of the track. The Alsatian climate is cool and moderately dry, with a pleasant temperature for racing during most of the year.

A chicane called Virage Yvan Muller downregulates speed before entering the hilly final segment of the road course, which takes drivers back into the main straightaway.
