The BMW M2 F87 is a powerful roadster designed by BMW M GmbH's Hussein Al-Attar for manufacture in Leipzig, Germany, from 2016 to 2019. Its international debut came in 2016 at the North American International Auto Show. The car is a rear-wheel-drive Coupe powered by the 3.0 L turbocharged N55B30T0 straight-six engine rated at 272 KW (365 HP) at 6500rpm, with an electrically-limited top speed of 155 mph on the base model and 175 mph on versions for Motorsports. The M2 F87 features reinforced pistons for durability and a lighter suspension achieved using aluminum components. It comes in 2 variants, one that has a 6-speed manual and the other has a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The top speed variation will depend on whether you get or not the optional M driver's package.
The BMW M2 F87 accelerates from 0-62 mph in 4.5 seconds in the standard and 4.3 seconds for the model equipped with the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The car weighs around 3220 lb. The M2 comes with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, 255/35/19 at the front and 265/35/19 at the rear. The BMW M2 is known internally at BMW as F87 due to its unique chassis.
