The Mazda RX-8 S1 is a sportscar featuring a quad coupe design where the four doors hinge opposite without any center pillars, produced from 2004 to 2007 in Hiroshima, Japan. Ikuo Maeda and Wu-Huang Chin were the designers in charge of this concept car. This coupe includes a 1.3L RENESIS (Wankel rotary) engine (189-238 hp 141-177kW) and has a curb weight of around 3027lbs (for manual models) or 3051lbs (for automatic models). Its top speed is 146mph, accelerating from 0-60mph in 6.4 seconds. It comes on a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive (RWD) layout, with a 4-speed automatic, 5/6-speed manual, or 6-speed automatic paddle-shift gearboxes, depending on the model you choose.
This Mazda RX-8 S1 is around $5000 on the market today, which is a reasonable price for starters wanting to develop their performance driving skills. It's got great looks, is very comfortable, and fun to drive. It has a double-wishbone suspension system on the front and a Multi-link on the rear. 255/45 ZR18 tires both front and back, with vented discs brake system in all four wheels. The car is compact, light, and looks very futuristic. It is an excellent choice for any sportscars fan. Still, the Wankel engine might be vulnerable from a mechanical point of view since not everybody is qualified to provide proper maintenance services.
