El Porsche Cayman S 987 v2 es un coupé deportivo descapotable de dos puertas, la segunda generación del famoso Porsche Cayman, fabricado entre 2009 y 2012 en Stuttgart, Alemania. Presentado en 2008 en el Salón del Automóvil de Ginebra, la gran innovación de este modelo fue la introducción de la nueva caja de cambios manual PDK (Porsche Doppel Kupplungs) de 6 velocidades, que reemplazó la tradicional transmisión semiautomática trip tonic de modelos anteriores. Este roadster incorpora un motor bóxer de seis cilindros y 3.4L DFI que desarrolla 320 hp y 273 lb-ft de torque, acelerando de 0 a 62 mph en 5.2 segundos y alcanzando una velocidad máxima de 172 mph. El Cayman cuenta con una distribución de carga en el eje de aproximadamente 45:55 para garantizar estabilidad y comportamiento en carretera.
El Porsche Cayman S 987 v2 presenta una configuración de motor delantero con tracción trasera, con un diseño más ligero y compacto. En el exterior, el frontal rediseñado con luces LED diurnas es una de las características icónicas que atraen todas las miradas. El coche incluye el Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), el paquete Sport Chrono, sistema de frenos con discos ventilados y ABS, control electrónico de estabilidad e inmovilizador. Los neumáticos Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 vienen de serie montados en llantas de aleación ligera de 18 pulgadas estilo 911 turbo, con medidas 235/35 R18 en el eje delantero y 265/40 R18 en el trasero.
