La Lexus IS F, produite de 2008 à 2014, est la version haute performance de la berline Lexus IS et représente la première incursion de Lexus sur le marché des berlines sportives sous la marque « F ». Elle est équipée d’un moteur V8 atmosphérique de 5,0 litres développant 416 chevaux et 371 lb-pi de couple, associé à une transmission automatique Sport Direct Shift à 8 rapports. L’IS F accélère de 0 à 60 mph en 4,6 secondes et atteint une vitesse maximale de 170 mph.
Son style agressif se caractérise par une assiette rabaissée, des sorties d’échappement quadruples et des prises d’air agrandies, qui la distinguent des modèles IS standards. Les améliorations de performance comprennent une suspension plus rigide, des freins Brembo et un différentiel à glissement limité (introduit en 2010) pour une meilleure tenue de route. L’intérieur allie luxe et sportivité avec des sièges en cuir, des inserts en fibre de carbone et une instrumentation spécifique à la gamme F.
L’IS F est reconnue pour associer la fiabilité et le raffinement propres à Lexus à la performance exaltante d’un V8 à haut régime et à une tenue de route précise, en faisant une proposition unique dans le segment des berlines sportives.
