El Toyota GR86 es un coupé deportivo ligero de tracción trasera desarrollado en colaboración con Subaru, presentado como sucesor del Toyota 86 en 2022. Cuenta con un motor bóxer de cuatro cilindros opuestos de 2.4L atmosférico que produce 228 hp y 184 lb-ft de torque, un aumento notable respecto al motor de 2.0L del modelo anterior. Este nuevo motor mejora el tiempo de 0 a 60 mph del GR86 a alrededor de 6 segundos con la transmisión manual, solucionando las quejas previas sobre la potencia en la generación anterior.
El GR86 mantiene su diseño enfocado en el conductor y su bajo centro de gravedad, gracias a su motor bóxer y construcción ligera. Ofrece la opción de una transmisión manual de 6 velocidades o una automática de 6 velocidades con levas al volante. El chasis ha sido reforzado para mejorar el manejo, y la suspensión ha sido ajustada para ofrecer un control y una respuesta precisos, haciendo que sea muy disfrutable en carreteras sinuosas o en días de pista.
El diseño exterior es aerodinámico y elegante, con una parrilla frontal agresiva, faros LED y líneas esculpidas que le dan una estética deportiva. En el interior, el GR86 incluye materiales mejorados, un cuadro de instrumentos digital, una pantalla táctil de 8 pulgadas con Apple CarPlay y Android Auto, y asientos deportivos con buen soporte.
