Der BMW M2 F87 ist ein leistungsstarker Roadster, entworfen von Hussein Al-Attar von BMW M GmbH für die Produktion in Leipzig, Deutschland, von 2016 bis 2019. Sein internationales Debüt fand 2016 auf der North American International Auto Show statt. Das Auto ist ein Hinterradantriebs-Coupé, angetrieben vom 3,0-Liter-Turbo-N55B30T0-Reihensechszylinder mit einer Leistung von 272 kW (365 PS) bei 6.500 U/min, mit einer elektronisch begrenzten Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 250 km/h (155 mph) im Basismodell und 282 km/h (175 mph) in Motorsport-Versionen. Der M2 F87 verfügt über verstärkte Kolben für Haltbarkeit und eine leichtere Aufhängung durch Verwendung von Aluminiumkomponenten. Er ist in 2 Varianten erhältlich, eine mit einem 6-Gang-Schaltgetriebe und die andere mit einem 7-Gang-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe. Die Höchstgeschwindigkeitsvarianz hängt davon ab, ob Sie das optionale M Driver's Package erhalten oder nicht.
Der BMW M2 F87 beschleunigt im Standard in 4,5 Sekunden von 0 auf 100 km/h und in 4,3 Sekunden für das Modell mit dem 7-Gang-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe. Das Auto wiegt etwa 1.460 kg (3.220 lb).
