Autódromo Miguel E. Abed Notes

The Autodromo Internacional Miguel E. Abed (AIMA) is a multipurpose FIA Grade 2 road course located in Amozoc, a town at 2331 meters (7647 feet) above sea level, 45-min east of Puebla, Mexico. AIMA is one of Mexico's most important racing facilities, and competitions such as the World Touring Car Cup, The NASCAR Mexico Series, or the Formula E use the venue regularly. There are several configurations for racing, including a 1-1/4 mile (2.01-km) oval track and a variety of infield layouts using the banked corners of the oval. The 1.82-mile Short International Circuit is the layout of choice for the WTCC events, using one of the banked corners of the oval track and 14 infield corners running on flat terrain.

Races at AIMA's Short International Circuit start/finish on the main straight, on a banked terrain shared with the NASCAR-style oval configuration. The first turn leads into the infield track, with a 90-degree shift to the left. Seven turns snake on flat infield terrain before re-entering the NASCAR oval at sweeper number ten. The varying angles of the curves offer quite a challenge for maneuvering, with opponents trying to overtake each other at their slightest mistake. Another infield section of four turns starts at corner eleven, leading into the banked corner 15, which also belongs to the NASCAR circuit.
