The BMW E92 M3 is a high-performance coupe assembled by the motorsport division of the German automaker, BMW M GmbH, in Munich, Germany, from 2007 to 2013. Equipped with a 414 HP V8 4.0-liter engine, with an estimated power of around 420 CV (414 HP 309 kW), it goes from 0-62 mph in 4.8 seconds. The top speed of the E92 M3 is electronically-limited to 155 mph (249 km/h), rushing into whooping 190 mph (306 km/h) when the limitations get removed. The power train consists of a 6-speed manual gearbox with a rear-wheel-drive disposition. Suspension-wise, the E92 M3 uses McPherson struts and coil springs both at the front and back.
The interior of the BMW E92 M3 offers a great deal of pleasure and comfort for high-end drivers. The stock tire sizes are 245/40 R18 in the front, and 265/40 R18 on the back, with a vented discs braking system. 2007: The E92 M3 debuted with the all-new 4.0L S65 V8 engine, producing 414 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. It featured a carbon-fiber roof, a high-revving powerplant, and was available with a 6-speed manual transmission, focusing on performance and driving purity.
2008: The M3 received the option of a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), allowing quicker shifts and slightly faster acceleration. This year also saw the addition of M Drive, a customizable driving mode system for tailored performance settings.
2009: Minor updates included an improved iDrive system with an updated interface and navigation options. Performance and styling remained largely the same as BMW refined the M3’s technology package.
2010: BMW introduced Competition Package (ZCP) as an option, lowering the car by 10mm, adding electronic damper control (EDC) settings, and fitting 19-inch lightweight wheels, enhancing handling and cornering stability.
2011: The M3 received minor cosmetic tweaks, and BMW released the limited-edition Frozen Gray M3, featuring a matte gray exterior, unique interior trim, and the Competition Package as standard.
2012: The Lime Rock Park Edition was introduced as a U.S.-only special edition with Fire Orange paint, the Competition Package, a lightweight exhaust system, and other unique styling elements. Only 200 units were produced.
2013: The final year for the E92 M3 saw no major changes, as BMW prepared for the next generation. The model’s naturally aspirated V8 and balanced handling made it a future classic, and it marked the end of V8 power in the M3 lineup.
