La Honda Civic EG représente l'évolution de cinquième génération produite de septembre 1991 à 1995 qui a fondamentalement redéfini la formule de voiture compacte à travers une construction légère, une architecture sophistiquée de suspension à double triangle et la disponibilité de groupes motopropulseurs VTEC à haut régime établissant la plateforme comme icône du sport automobile de base et pierre angulaire de la culture de tuning JDM maintenant un statut légendaire trois décennies post-production. Le quatre cylindres en ligne DOHC VTEC B16A produit 170 chevaux à 8,000 tr/min avec 116 livres-pieds de couple à 7,000 tr/min transformant les caractéristiques conservatrices d'économie à bas régime en livraison de performance agressive à haut régime. La production s'est terminée en 1995 avec des valeurs de marché d'occasion contemporaines variant de $5,000 à $20,000 selon la condition et les spécifications SiR japonaises ou VTi européennes avec groupes motopropulseurs VTEC B16A authentiques commandant des primes.
