The Nissan 370Z Nismo represents the pinnacle of Z-car performance, debuting at the 2009 New York Auto Show as a track-focused evolution of the standard 370Z. Powered by the venerable 3.7-liter VQ37VHR V6 engine producing 350 horsepower and 276 lb-ft of torque, the Nismo variant distinguishes itself through comprehensive aerodynamic enhancements, sport-tuned suspension, and aggressive styling that pays homage to Nissan's racing heritage.
From a performance standpoint, the 370Z Nismo achieves 0-60 mph in 5.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 179 mph. The 6-speed manual transmission delivers direct engagement with the rear-wheel-drive platform, while Recaro sport seats and a Nismo-tuned exhaust system enhance both driver connection and auditory feedback. The aerodynamic package includes a functional front chin spoiler, rear wing, and side skirts that generate meaningful downforce at track speeds.
Throughout its production run from 2009 to 2020, the 370Z Nismo received several updates. The 2014 model year brought a significant refresh with more aggressive bodywork and improved cooling. 2015 introduced refined aesthetics with LED daytime running lights and updated bumpers. By 2017, Nissan added new color options and an optional 7-speed automatic transmission to broaden appeal. The 370Z Nismo remained in production until 2020, representing the final evolution of the Z34 platform before the arrival of the all-new Z.
